Creative lions

A shop owner in Brakpan, South Africa, was tired of people breaking into his yard/shop
so he came up with the idea of shaving his dog like a lion. Everyone in SA recognizes a lion, now he has no problem with thugs!

Received this through e-mail, I apologize that I don't have the origin of the photo.

Social media in Iceland quantity or quality

pic. Bardur by @gommit at 9.9.9. conference

Just spent the day at 9.9.9. conference on Social Media in Iceland hosted by @hjortur.
Loads of really interesting speakers, I was told that @aldakalda at The Iceland Weather Report was really good in the morning and during the day we discussed a lot why the Government hasn't used the super power of bloggers to fight the PR battle Iceland is fighting every day! Clara, as always, shone and I was really inspired again by @icelanders by @briansuda.

I talked on behalf of @ratsja on Social Media Marketing and using Facebook as a marketing tool.

A few topics really stood out. We at Ratjsá were of course all ears when the panel discussing politics, democracy and social media started talking about @framsokn, @helgihjorvar and other political figures we've worked with. I was also highly interested in an open discussion on Facebook vs. Twitter. As @briansuda politely put it:  "if you want quantity, use Facebook. But if you want quality, use Twitter". I many ways I agree, the Icelandic twitter crowd is a high quality P.R. and networking machine. As always I emphasized on putting more manpower into social media, listen and interact.

Another star of the show was obviously www.prezi.com

A big applause to Hjörtur at Scope Communication to put up this event, I sure hope it will become an annual event.

Amazing Icelandic mountain bike helmet cam video

Magne Kvam, a friend of mine, just guided a MTB crew around Iceland for some photo shoot. It seems they did a route I´ve always dreamt of doing Mt.Bláfell at Landmannalaugar

Surrounded by great people

I work with great people at Ratsja and Jonsson & Le'macks. I've often woken up in the past in a job where I didn't feel well, where I didn't see myself in the future.
I just came across this great cartoon by Hugh MacLeod at www.gapingvoid.com, got me thinking about my work-life and the importance of making the changes necessary to feel good at work.
I feel good today!

Lake Thingvellir

The family spent the weekend at Lake Thingvellir (Þingvallavatn). We had an amazing weekend and probably the last "warm" days of summer.

Facebook in Italy, thank you!

Facebook is such an amazing tool.
Last night I stumbled up on many of my old friends from Cagli in Italy

I lived in Italy more or less from 1995 till 1998. Cagli was the place I called home and I proudly called myself Cagliese, "from Cagli".
Cagli is a picturesque little village in the Marche region on the east side of the Appenines. The area is quiet and the people are genuinely friendly.

This brings back so many warm memories. I haven't spoken any Italian for 11 years until last month when my old university friends from Assisi came to visit me, I also relocated them via Facebook.

Facebook, thank you!
